 Love Letters Supply List

Periwinkle (Full Kit)


 

Equipment and Notions:

  • Kit Fee: $150 (Payable in Class)

  • Ruler

  • Paper and fabric scissors

  • Embroidery scissors (optional)

  • Basting needle (an embroidery needle works well)

  • Appliqué needle (straw needles size 11, Foxglove Cottage recommended)*

  • Embroidery needle

  • Chenille Needle

  • White or beige silk thread (YLI 100 weight, I like color 242) *

  • Light Pink cotton thread

  • White cotton thread

  • Basting thread (any thread that you want to get rid of)

  • Frixion pen (by Pilot) or any pen containing ink that disappears with heat

  • Sewline fabric pencil with grey lead or any marking pencil that doesn’t disappear with heat

  • Circle template that includes 1 3/4", 2” and 2 1/4” circles

  • 1 bottle Aloe Vera gel (clear)

  • Pencil


 Each Kit Contains:

  •  Love Letters Pattern

  • Painter’s palette

  • 3 brush-tip Fantastix applicators

  • 10 Stir sticks

  • 8 pipettes

  • 1 medium paintbrush

  • 1 small paintbrush

  • 1 really small paintbrush

  • Five 8 ½” x 11” freezer paper/ PFD fabric combos printed with a letter

  • One 3 ½” x 11” freezer paper/ PFD fabric combo practice sheet

  • 1 acrylic workstation (holds up to 12bottles of ink and prevents them from spilling)

  • 8 bottles of Tsukineko ink

  • All of the fabric necessary to make the quilt (except batting and backing fabric)

  • 7 yards pink silk ribbon (13 mm)

  • 24 yards green silk ribbon (7 mm)

  • 16 yards white silk ribbon (3.5 mm)

  • 1 skein white embroidery floss

  • 1/3 skein gray embroidery floss

  • Seed beads for the inside of the dimensional pink and white forget-me-nots

  • Freezer paper

  • Vellum

  • Cardstock templates

  • Cute box to put it all in


Optional Equipment and Notions:

  • Tweezers (the ones with pointy tips are the best)

  • Embroidery hoop

  • Small light box

  • T-shirt, Apron or smock to protect clothing from ink

  • 1 yard of fabric for border **

  • ¼ yard of fabric for binding

  • Ruler

  • Paper and fabric scissors

  • Embroidery scissors (optional)

  • Basting needle (an embroidery needle works well)

  • Appliqué needle (straw needles size 11, Foxglove Cottage recommended) *

  • Embroidery needle

  • Chenille Needle

  • White cotton thread

  • Basting thread (any thread that you want to get rid of)

  • Frixion pen (by Pilot) or any pen containing ink that disappears with heat

** Students are required to send a 4” x 4” square of their border fabric to Jaimie a minimum of 2 months before the workshop so that she can match the center background paint color to the border fabric and provide the proper inks. You can contact her here:
