Purple Poppies Supply List
Equipment and Notions:
- Kit Fee: $20 (Payable in Class. For virtual workshops, purchase the kit here.) 
- Paper and fabric scissors 
- Embroidery scissors (optional) 
- Basting thread (any thread that you want to get rid of) 
- black or navy silk thread (YLI 100 weight) * 
- beige silk thread (YLI 100 weight) * 
- Applique needles (size 11, Foxglove Cottage recommended) *

Each Kit Includes:
- Purple Poppies pattern 
- One 21” square of fabric for background 
- One 4” square of purple fabric for poppies 
- One 4" x 8” square of green fabric for stems 
- Two 5" x 11” square of purple fabric for borders 
- One purple stem 10” long prepared with Steam-a Seam tape 
- One green stem 10” long prepared with Steam-a Seam tape 
- One super-narrow stem 8” long prepared with Steam-a Seam tape 
- Templates for leaves, stems and poppies 
- Bead placement guide 
- One piece of freezer paper 8”x 12” 
- A sample of YLI silk thread 
- One Jeana Kimball straw needle size 11 
Additional Supplies to Finish the Quilt:
- Collins bias press bars (set of 5) * 
- Steam-A-Seam 2® fusible tape (¼” x 40 yard package, not the “lite” package) 
- Freezer paper 
- Circle template with circles 2” and smaller (available at office supply stores) 
- Fray Check® (optional) 
- Green and purple seed beads (optional) 
Yardage Amounts for Complete Quilt:
- 2 yards white background fabric 
- 1¼ yard of dark purple fabric (includes binding) 
- 1 yard of medium purple fabric 
- 1 yard of light green fabric 
- Small cuts of various light, medium and dark greens for the leaves and poppy centers 
- Small cuts of various light, medium and dark purples for the leaves and poppies 
Guild Provides:
- 1 table for teacher’s use 
- 3-5 irons and ironing stations 
- Electrical cords and extensions, multiple-outlet strip, adaptors, lighting (if necessary) 
- 1 table for every 2 students
